Brittany Hutson Brittany Hutson is a journalist with more than a decade of experience telling stories about Black food culture. Her work has appeared in such publications as Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, and Eating Well. Brittany's food writing focuses on the intersection of culture, community, and entrepreneurship. Experience Brittany's food journalism career took shape in Detroit where she began reporting on food news and writing restaurant reviews for Detroit Metro Times. She covered the city's Black food entrepreneurs, tastemakers, and community development for Hour Detroit Magazine and on her blog Fed and Bougie. Brittany's food writing became the platform she used to explore issues like social justice, poverty, economics, and politics. She has written articles for WDET, Civil Eats, Metromode, Tostada Magazine, and Edible Brooklyn. Aside from journalism, Brittany also is a content marketing writer for companies such as McCormick. Education Brittany studied African Literature at the University of Cape Town. She graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Brittany has a Master of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Human Computer Interaction.
