Beth Kirby Beth Kirby was a Tennessee-based writer, photographer, food stylist, and recipe developer. She created the internationally beloved and award-winning food, travel, and lifestyle blog Local Milk. Her recipes, food styling, and photography appeared on such sites as Bon Appétit, Saveur, Food & Wine, and Food52, among others. Experience Beth founded her blog, Local Milk, in 2012 as a platform to share her love of Southern food, cooking, recipes, travel tips, and lifestyle ideas. Over the years, Local Milk developed a loyal international fan base, drawn to Beth's voice and extraordinary way of connecting to food through her writing and photography. Beth's talent as a cook and food stylist took her to the finals of "Gordon Ramsey's Master Chef." Her work has also been featured in Martha Steward Living, The Kitchen, Huffington Post, and Home Gourmet Magazine. Beth passed away in March 2002. Her last work, The Local Milk Cookbook: Love, Life, and Mostly Vegetarian Recipes, a collection of 150 seasonal recipes and personal essays, was published in April 2022. Education Beth graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
