Ayako Yoshikawa-Gordon

Experience

Seattle floral designer Ayako Yoshikawa-Gordon's friendship with fellow Japanese immigrant Katsumi Taki was nourished with food and fueled by nostalgia. They shared a love of cooking food that reminded them of their cultural heritage and using conscientiously farmed produce. She always saw past the blemishes and found the intrinsic beauty in food well-grown, aware that she didn't need pristine fruit to make great jam. Her jams and potstickers were a reflection of Ayako's belief in building community through soulful, handcrafted goods. Ayako's daughter Alessandra took over running Ayako & Family after her mother passed away in 2019.
