Alex Guarnaschelli

A lifelong New Yorker, Alex Guarnaschelli is a mother, chef, and TV host. Aside from appearing on various Food Network shows such as Iron Chef America, Chopped, Supermarket Stakeout, and The Kitchen, Alex owns the 20-year-old new-American restaurant, Butter, in Midtown Manhattan.


Guarnaschelli gained experience in France before becoming the chef at Butter in New York City and gaining fame on food TV. The host of Food Network's Alex's Day Off, The Cooking Loft, and Supermarket Stakeout, published. cookbooks Old-School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook in 2013 and The Home Cook: Recipes to Know by Heart in 2017. Guarnaschelli also appears on The Kitchen, Chopped, Iron Chef America, All Star Family Cook-off, Guy's Grocery Games, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate.


Guarnaschelli studied at La Varenne Cooking School in Burgundy after college at Barnard.
