Rioja is a blended wine made largely from the Tempranillo grape. Tempranillo, again, is Spain's most famous red wine grape. They're not big, powerful, in your face wines. They've got a kind of light earthiness, kind of cherry and oak, and a little bit of vanilla. For me, Rioja, what I would pair with it, grilled lamb chops. The herbal character of the wine, the lamb. It's just a fantastic combination.
