Ovenly's Brooklyn Blackout Cake Induces Chocolate Oblivion

Brooklyn's Ovenly bakery sell (and ship!) this epic version of Brooklyn Blackout Cake.

Co-founded by Agatha Kulaga and Erin Patinkin, Brooklyn's Ovenly bakery has quickly become a favorite of Greenpoint locals and visitors. The duo sell (and ship!) treats like chocolate truffle cookies and even this epic version of Brooklyn Blackout Cake. This cake has all the things: salt, sweetness ... and beer. It’s no ordinary mix of sugar and chocolate but a heavenly/sinful combo of bitter chocolate, Brooklyn Brewery stout and chocolate pudding buttercream. You will end up eating the whole slice so don’t fight it.—Emily Elyse Miller of Trends on Trends (@trendsontrends_) and F&W's Around the World Network.

[MUSIC] I'm Agatha Colada. And I'm Erin Patigan and we are the co-founders of Ovenly. A bakery in [INAUDIBLE] Everything we do is sweet and salty with a touch of spice, but our favorite, favorite chocolate thing we make is our Brooklyn Blackout cake. And what makes this cake so special is that rather than using a devil Devil's food cake, we do a chocolate cake, but we do use cocoa noir to mix into it. It is slightly bitter and super, super rich, dark, chocolatey deliciousness. And we also throw in ample amounts of Brooklyn Brewery's black chocolate stout beer, so it has a little bit of a malty flavor, too.
