Nick Morgenstern makes his signature banana split for Food & Wine.
[MUSIC] Today I'm gonna show you guys how to make our signature King Kong Banana Split. First we're gonna start with a fresh banana we cut it in half down the middle then we're gonna put a little bit of our pickled pineapple I like to do our pickled pineapple with a little bit of white balsamic vinegar honey and a little bit of white pepper. This is our Madagascar vanilla we make that just with our Madagascar vanilla beans Cream, milk and sugar. Now I'm going to scoop a little bit of our Meringue Vanilla. This is our Caramelized Honey Vanilla. The honey has been caramelized obviously with our vanilla beans. Our Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream, which is made with our Old Granddad Bourbon. This is our Peppermint Vanilla. This is a honeycomb made with sesame seeds, so we're going to put a little bit of that in the front and a little bit on the side. Next we're gonna add some of our sesame caramel, black and white sesame seeds added for texture. This is our house whipped whipped cream. You can put a little bit of whipping cream and sugar and shake it like that, and you're going to feel it's gonna get thicker as you shake it. The more you shake it, the thicker it's gonna get. We can pour it right on top, and last but not least, a cherry on top. I love the luxardo cherries from Italy. That's the king kong banana split. [MUSIC]
