For a great meal, for a crowd, my crowd, my family crowd on New Year's Eve, I keep alive the tradition of my mother's fried chicken. She would use, milk, salt, pepper, mashed garden herbs, and roasted onion. And take a little bit of the chicken fat and spoon it into the end of her biscuit recipe. Put the biscuits in the oven, and when the biscuits came out, we had fried chicken with biscuits, and she'd make a little milk gravy in the bottom of the pan, and that was New Year's Eve.
