Believe it or not the best way to preserve open wine to retain its fragrance is actually to pop it in the freezer this is not a good idea if you have not opened the bottle yet of course but once you have poured a glass out it will not shatter will it not pop. What it will do is it will preserve the fresh taste of the wine in the exact same way that freezing vegetables can be the best way to preserve their freshness and their flavor too. As long as there's one little trick that you follow, which is to keep the bottle upright and not let the wine touch the cork, this is one of the best ways to preserve its freshness, to return and taste it another day.
