How to Make Caramel Sauce

This is the easiest and fastest way to make homemade caramel sauce. The results are perfectly gooey, sticky and sweet.

Making homemade caramel sauce can be intimidating and it's quite scary. But I have a fool proof technique for making it in the microwave. [MUSIC] So I have a large heat proof measuring cup. And I'm gonna add my sugar As well as water and light corn syrup. And take a spoon and we wanna mix it really well. I'm gonna microwave the mixture on full power for about five to seven minutes until it just starts to turn golden brown. [MUSIC] Look at this. It's a little steamy. But you can see, it has a beautiful, golden color. And what we're gonna do is just add some heavy cream. It's gonna bubble up. And I'm also gonna stir in some room-temperature butter. And some pure vanilla extract. Cuz nothing's better than salted caramel We're gonna have a generous pinch of salt. [MUSIC] Now I'm going to pour the caramel into a heat-proof jar, and allow it to cool. Look at that color, it's already incredible. [MUSIC] And this is gonna take probably 30 to 40 minutes It cool and we'll be ready to go. [MUSIC] Yes, look at that. And as most of you know, caramel is an apple's best friend. [BLANK_AUDIO]
