[MUSIC] I'm Justin Chapple from Food & Wine's test kitchen.
Join me as I demonstrate mad genius tips. [BLANK_AUDIO] I,
I love to entertain in the summer and one of
my favorite things to make is Watermelon in Fennel salad.
But what I don't like is that when I'm cutting
the watermelon, the juice is going all over the board
and onto the counters. But I've discovered a mad genius
tip to cut watermelon into perfect cubes without any mess.
We're gonna take a large sharp knife, and I'm going
to hold the knife at an angle parallel to the
edge of the watermelon wedge and then I'm gonna cut
all the way down to the rack. Wine. Now I'm
gonna make a second cut at the exact same angle
just on the first one and a third cut and
I'm gonna rotate the water melon and make the exact
same cut on the opposite side. [MUSIC] So I'm gonna
rotate the water melon so its facing me. And were
going to make one inch vertical cuts all the way
down to the bottom [MUSIC] Look. There is zero juice
on my board. The coolest part? All those watermelon cubes
fall right into the bowl. And if you want to
go back to the early 90s, you can use this
as a cell phone. Hello? But we have all this
beautiful watermelon, nicely cubed. Without the mess. [BLANK_AUDIO]
