[MUSIC] I'm Gail Simmons and today I'm taking you on
a walking tour of my favorite cluster of New York
neighborhoods. Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn.
[MUSIC] I'm here at Mile End, a modern Montreal deli
in the heart of Boerum Hill. It's incredible in this
tiny little space they pack in so many delicious things.
They're known for their famous smoked meat, their house smoked
fish, and of course, their authentic Montreal bagels. All right,
now, talk to me about smoked meat. Sure. The smoked
meat is predominantly smoked like pastrami but unlike corned beef
which is boiled. Can I have some please? Thank you.
Whether it's the delicious smoked meat or any of their
hearty dishes, Mile End is worth a stop. [MUSIC] Holler
& Squall is a fantastic vintage home design store right
on Atlantic Avenue. [MUSIC] I love exploring this shop. You
just never know what you're going to find here. Beautiful
lighting, furniture, even vintage jewelry. There's amazing surprises at every
turn. I'm not walking down Court Street into Cobble Hill.
One of my favorite places to stop for a hot
coffee and warm pretzel is Cafe Pedlar. In addition to
their excellent coffee, Cafe Pedlar also has great pizzas and
pastry [BLANK_AUDIO] One of the things I love about coming
to Seersucker is your really concise and special line lift.
Can we try something? So Thirsty Owl is based up
in the Finger Lakes. And they are one of the
wineries doing wine on tap now. And it's It's a
great new trend and it is green. It cuts down
on packaging and all those things and keeps the wine
at perfect temperature, and the wine is always fresh. [MUSIC]
Two of my favorite dishes here are the crispy Mississippi
catfish and the Brown sugar bourbon pork chop with harmony
and brussel sprouts. There are so many new and exciting
things opening in Brooklyn everyday. This is just a small
taste of some of my favorites, and a glass of
wine at [UNKNOWN] is the perfect way to end my
tour. Enjoy your food and wine. [MUSIC]
