What I really like to do is to burn things on one side on the cast iron, and that would be like a tomato. What I do is I make some cuts on the tomato, I put salt and lots of fresh oregano. I sort of stuff that tomato on that side, and then I just burn it very, very fast. So you have that taste of burnt with oregano, the salt, and the tomato on one side, and on the other side it's fresh and cold. And that mixture of temperatures in your mouth, it's wonderful, because you have the tar of the burnt with the fresh of the fruit.
