Andrew Zimmern talks about his favorite Portland, Oregon restaurants at the 2011 Food & Wine Classic in AspenAndrew Zimmern talks about his favorite Portland, Oregon restaurants at the 2011 Food & Wine Classic in Aspen
My dad lives in Portland, Maine, and we visit there all the time. And I think it's the greatest small food city in the country. We love Dave's for lobster rolls and Steamers, it's about five miles out of town on Highway 1. We love going to Hugo's, it's one of my favorite restaurants in the country. Rob Evans is a genius. We like Chez Jacqueline which is the new restaurant from the people who run five, five, five and those two restaurants are fantastic. Five, five, five is a great modern American bistro and Chez Jacqueline is a tiny little postage stamp of a restaurant on the other end of town that's a classic bistro. Number Five, my favorite restaurant and one of my favorites in the country. One of the most beautiful rooms, just puts you at ease, Four Street. They put muscles my go to food in a pan with crushed marcona almonds and brown butter and roast them. And then the grilled Mackerel, if they have it get it. Extraordinary.
