Made this to top off an Indian dinner of rogan josh (lamb), gobi aloo (curried veggies) and assorted chutneys with flatbread.  It was delicious made with rice milk in place of whole milk, half & half in place of cream, and agave syrup in place of sugar.  We used arborio rice and it turned out really creamy.  Our guests loved it.  It's definitely not a light dessert, and it's very sweet, but if you serve small portions topped with lots of fruit and go easy on the whole milk / cream / sugar, etc., it's a great dish.  I'll try it with soymilk next time for a lighter / healthier version yet.
