Awesome! I substitued apples for the pears since our super market didn't have any ripe pears.  I also don't keep walnut or hazelnut oil in the pantry because of it's expense, so I toasted walnuts, chopped them well and added them to the salad.  It added a nice texture...

Yummy!  I changed the recipe slightly to make a garlic/chili paste for the shrimp and added some serrano chillies into the slaw.  We went with a unoaked Pinot Gris from Oregon that was crisp and helped cut the heat and clean the pallet.
