This was a HUGE hit and well-worth the effort.

Having HATED the cream of turkey that my mother would make with leftovers as a kid, I was a little skittish about using leftovers for anything but sandwiches, but tried this because I needed to use up a lot fast. It was very good. Because I was trying to get my kids to eat it, I left out the jalapeno, but kept to the recipe otherwise. When I make it again (and I will), I think I'll add the cilantro raw when serving and not cook it in.

I've made this soup for a wide range of occasions, including Christmas Eve with friends, and it never fails.  Good, healthy, easy.  When washing the leeks is the hardest step, it's hard to beat.

I've made this 3x this season and it's very good, crisp and spicy cookies and easy recipe.  I found, though, that keeping the top parchment sheet on for the 2nd rolling helps keep the dough from sticking to the roling pin.

Add a little cayenne and serve these at cocktail parties.

Very crumbly.  I made them with children, so maybe something wasn't mixed enough or the crosshatching was a little too firm, but 75% of them fell apart.  Shoot.  Easy, though.

I've used this on both pork and fish.

don't be freaked out by the anchovies-- their slimy prickly selves melt into nothing but amazing taste.

I make this often (with storebought za'atar, I confess) and it's a big hit, even with kids.

I made this last night and it was really sublime-- one major change, though.  I got pork chops that were about 1 1/4" thick so I followed Julia Child's advice on cooking thick ones and quickly browned them, then simmered slowly, checking the meat at the bone.  Because they were thick, too, I marinated for 24 hours.  They were really really tasty.

This is also good with a poached egg, instead of the chopped.

Really spices up the tenor of a picnic or potluck. Yum.

I will tromp out on a snowy evening to buy the ingredients for this one.  The taste completely transports you to a warm, tropical place.

I will tromp out into the snow and sleet to buy the lime and cucumbers and ginger for this recipe. It is an amazing taste of a warm place for a winter night.

Make this once and you'll find yourself making it all the time-- it's a simple, fast meal with greens and rice.

Easy, fast, kind of healthy, and not overly sweet.

I had never thought of cheese and beets together, but this recipe made me a believer.  MAN, it's good.  And pretty. And easy.

So unbelievably rich and delicious but too many ingredients, especially too many specialty ingredients.  Glad I made it once and wish I could eat it again without going through making it...
