Les Chocolats de Chloé

546 Duluth E.
Montreal

Step inside this tiny chocolatier and the powerful aromas of caramel, spice, milk, and yes, chocolate are as comforting as stepping back into your mother’s kitchen—though we doubt she was turning out such haute treats. Sea salt, cardamom, buckwheat honey, tonka bean, and Espelette pepper account for just a few of the 20 flavors of Chloé’s dense, dark bonbon squares. The store also sells homemade hot chocolate (spiced with cinnamon, cayenne, and vanilla), jars of caramel butter, and eight flavors of chocolate bars. During the run-up to certain holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter), the line for the register might run down the block.
