To choose a sideboard for a holiday dinner, Turner, whose book Nathan Turner’s American Style is out now, went to L.A. shop Lief and found a vintage Swedish 1920s piece ($8,700; liefalmont.com). Its neutral color and simple lines are a great starting point for his laid-back, elegant look.
