My friends and I wanted to host a party outside before it got too cold out. This was the last hurrah on our friend Kristy's roof until spring. The full spread always includes flowers from the greenmarket.
Kristy called her neighborhood wine shop and asked for their recommendations. She let them choose based on what we were serving. We stuck with sparkling because it’s food-friendly, and it feels festive. It’s a great way to try new types of wine.

Cured Meats and Cheeses
Our entertaining standbys. You can never go wrong with a selection of cured meats and cheeses. Folding meats is a great way to present them and makes them easy for the guests to pick up. Serve with your favorite breads.

Simple Ricotta with Condiments
One of my friend Kristy’s favorites: ricotta with a simple homemade hazelnut-and-honey spread on toasts with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt. We plated it so guests could serve themselves and customize the amounts of ricotta and sweet hazelnuts.

Creamed Kale Toasts
We could happily eat this creamed kale on its own, but the toasts are a much easier way to serve it to a crowd. We added an extra sprinkling of fresh cheese because the contrast in color is nice and dramatic.
