Willie Mae's Scotch House, New Orleans

An unassuming joint in New Orleans's Sixth Ward serves some of the best fried chicken around. In 2005 this chicken shack won the James Beard Foundation's American Classics award. Great people and authentic grub. It’s easily my favorite place in the US for chicken, but the beans alone are worth a trip from anywhere.
