Best New Places to Drink Wine

Slide 16 of 24

Society Fair, Alexandria, VA

This artisanal food emporium, from F&W Best New Chef 2006 Cathal Armstrong, also has a terrific wine bar. Not only does it stock a couple dozen wines by the glass—chosen by F&W Sommelier of the Year 2010 John Wabeck—but it offers inventive wine-based cocktails, too, like the savory-sweet I Want to Eat an Onion Tart, made with Dr. Loosen Blue Slate Riesling, sweet onions, vermouth, rum, lemon bitters and a bacon cracker. 227 S.
