Kouign amann bread pudding, $7
Known as "the queen of kouign amann," chef-owner Romina Rasmussen transforms the Brittany-inspired puff pastry into an outstanding dessert. "The magical ingredient in the bread pudding is the kouign amann itself," Rasmussen says. "It's a blend of salty sweet, and buttery." For this made-from-scratch confection, cubes of golden, flaky kouign amann are enveloped with salted caramel custard, soaked overnight and baked into a pudding-like consistency. During the process, the gooey cubes float to the top and retain a little crunch for textural contrast.
