Flo's; Cape Neddick, ME

Since 1959, two generations of Staceys—first Florence and now her daughter-in-law Gail—have made this roadside hot dog shack a must-stop along a wooded stretch of Route 1 in southern Maine. The special frank here is steamed, tucked into a buttered split-top bun, and topped with mayo, celery salt, and a top-secret sweet-and-spicy onion relish that Flo’s also sells by the jar.
