After chef Katie Button trained at El Bulli in Roses, Spain, she and her husband and business partner, Félix Meana, decided on a whim to move to Asheville and open this superb tapas bar. At Cúrate she serves a small brunch menu with perfectly executed Spanish dishes such as a traditional tortilla española as well as torrijas, a Spanish take on French toast. Button soaks eggy challah in a citrus-cinnamon custard, then sears it until golden brown and serves it with sherry sabayon and fresh berries.
