In the SoMa District near the James Lick Skyway, Zuppa serves Italian cuisine by chef-owner Joseph Manzare, who has worked in Italy and with Wolfgang Puck. His kitchen uses organic produce, humanely raised meat and poultry, and fish caught via sustainable practices to create dishes like tagliarini con granchio (pasta, Dungeness crab, roasted San Marzano tomatoes, basil), funghi pizza, and house-made sausage. During happy hour, oysters are available along with new takes on cocktails by mixologist Angelo Cattaneo. Zuppa’s rustic walls, gray floors, and paned windows are accented by silver chairs at glossy wood tables, blue pendant lamps, and leather banquettes.
