While in the big city, some feed the ducks, while others like to feed on the ducks. Those in the latter persuasion need look no further than this Chaoyang district restaurant. Peking duck takes center stage here in the unusual setting: Xiangmanlou looks more like an American diner than a Beijing restaurant. The often-long lines speak for themselves, though. The reasonably priced specialty dish comes with traditional accoutrements (onions, cucumbers, plum sauce, and thin, chewy pancakes) and is followed up by a bowl of duck broth, a rarity among other Peking duck restaurants.
