Whiskey Soda Lounge
Andy Ricker specializes in fiery northern Thai cuisine, and he created this whiskey-centric bar across the street from his increasingly popular Pok Pok restaurant to support spillover crowds. The glass-fronted lounge with an aqua back bar showcases whiskey in flights and cocktails. Housemade drinking vinegars also factor into cocktails and are available for sale in bottles, including flavors like tamarind, pomegranate, and honey. Cocktails include a Pok Pok Gin and Tonic, made with house-infused Kaffir lime gin and brandy-spiked Vietnamese coffee. Liquor-friendly bar bites include deep-fried anchovies, grilled flank steak served with chile-galangal dipping sauce, and Isaan sour-hot soup with buffalo and offal.

At one end of a historic warehouse, formerly home to the Sydney Theatre Company (STC), this grand waterside restaurant brings in guests via a walkway lined with posters of past performances. The dining room has memorable views of the harbor and bridge. In the kitchen, chef Aaron Ross (formerly of Claude’s) cooks contemporary Australian food with precisely calibrated flavors. Since the STC relocated nearby, its new director, actress Cate Blanchett, has been known to stop by for a bite.
