Owned by self-taught chef and film historian Abraham García, this small Mediterranean restaurant is named after a 1961 Luis Buñuel movie. Located in the Retiro neighborhood, the restaurant is decorated with black-and-white stills from various Buñuel films, as well as old-fashioned oil lamps and large flower bouquets. Downstairs, the cellar dining room has exposed brick arches and a curved ceiling. In addition to García’s signature offal dishes, such as grilled lamb kidneys with fried chickpeas, the ever-changing menu may include Navarran pigeon with roasted plums and Latin-influenced entrées like grilled sirloin steak with chipotle sauce.
