Vin Bar at Valentino
Owner Piero Selvaggio opened this small wine and cocktail bar inside his flagship Italian restaurant, Valentino, which he established in 1972 after immigrating from Sicily. Centered between the three main dining rooms, rows of small wooden tables and shelves of decorative green bottles are backlit with white light. The beverage list has a selection of a dozen Italian and Californian wines by the glass, as well as Prosecco and champagne. There are also speciality drinks, such as the Bourbon 1972, mixed with homemade blood-orange puree. A weekly small plates menu has lighter fare like crudo and catch-of-the day fish marinated in olive oil. Heavier dishes include traditional spaghetti and meatballs.
