It’s not the blink-or-you’ll-miss storefront with flimsy plastic tables and chairs that impress at this Mission District take-out joint, It’s the food. Classic Mediterranean favorites such as falafel and hummus are interpreted here with tangy flavors and fresh ingredients. The grilled lamb and chicken shawarmas and kebabs inspire superlatives compliments as does the combo plate with baba ganoush, tabouleh, cucumber salad, dolmas, and feta cheese. It’s taken owner Walid Zeidan 16 years to make “Truly Med” the favorite it is today with club-goers in this hip, but gritty neighborhood.
