Top Pot Doughnuts
Handmade doughnuts and fine coffee are an heirloom craft at Top Pot, which now boasts six cafés in the greater Puget Sound area. Originally based on a 1920s recipe, the doughnuts now come in 40 varieties, including old-fashioneds, crullers, fritters, jam and cream-filled, plus a variety of icing-, sprinkle- and shaved-coconut-topped delights. (Remarkably, all are trans fat free.) The downtown 5th Ave. outpost is where Top Pot roasts its small-batch coffee, which has as much a following as its doughy brethren.
