Three Guizhou Men
The story goes like this: three painters from Guizhou, a poor south central province, came to Beijing seeking to earn a fortune with their brushes. They soon realized their Sichuan fare could fill a void in the city, and Three Guizhou Men was born. This Chaoyang district restaurant opened in 2002, and is one of multiple locations across the city. It never closes, so jet-lagged tourists seeking a late-night meal are in luck. Beef on Fire is a dramatically presented dish popular with foreigners, but locals prefer the fish soup known for its pungency.
