British-born chef Robert Aikens (twin of London celebrity chef Tom Aikens) heads the kitchen at Stephen Starr’s take on a British pub, complete with a wood-burning fireplace and bronze bust of Winston Churchill. The masterfully executed comfort dishes veer old-school British—shepherd’s pie, beer-battered fish and (triple-cooked) chips, family-style Sunday roasts—but there are some American standbys as well, like mac and cheese (made with English cheddar), complemented by a terrific selection of cask ales.
