Sol de Mexico, under the leadership of chef Clementina Flores and her son Geno (both natives of Guerrero, Mexico), is one of the most popular Mexican eateries in the city's Cragin neighborhood. Mother and son serve up authentic Mexican food with an upscale twist in dishes like the ever-popular tostaditas de ceviche guerrerense, a crisp tortilla with lime-marinated marlin, and cochinita pibil, slow roasted pork shoulder wrapped in banana leaves. The restaurant also tops several entrees with their housemade moles, including rojo, negro, manchamanteles, and verde, prepared using old family recipes.
