Sea Basket
Fresh lobster rolls, fried scallops, and haddock chowder are just a few of the locally renowned specialties at this casual roadside restaurant, situated along U.S. Route One in Midcoast Maine. Established in 1981, the no-frills eatery is furnished with laminate booths, tiled walls, and childlike marine-themed paintings. Outside, a handful of picnic tables provide extra seating. In addition to the seafood, which is cooked with a convection frying system to produce crisper, less oily dishes, Sea Basket also has a kids’ menu and a selection of whoopie pies in flavors like raspberry crème and peanut butter.
