Sapporo-ya
The line of salarymen descending the stairs into this ramen haven is long, but take heart: it moves quickly, as these guys slurp like there’s no tomorrow. At the counter ask for the hiyashi chuka goma dare (cold ramen noodles with sesame sauce), pay, and be directed to your seat in the nondescript, utilitarian space. The huge bowl, 10 inches in diameter, overflows with cold egg noodles topped with veggies, pork, egg, and a lip-smacking savory sesame dressing. The hot ramen is good, too, but these are the best chilled ramen noodles in the metropolis.
