With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Bantry Bay, this Ambassador Hotel restaurant features one of the most impressive vistas in Cape Town. Illuminated by soft chandelier lighting, the dining room’s white tablecloths and dark brown chairs are stylish but understated, focusing attention instead on the panoramic views of jagged cliffs and ocean waves. The French-influenced South African menu includes such dishes as pistachio and pink peppercorn springbok carpaccio, followed by pan-fried fillet of beef with white rum jus. Salt also has a tapas menu and a wine list of mostly local vintages, all of which are available by the glass.
