Restaurant Martin Wishart
The namesake of renowned local chef Martin Wishart, this Michelin one-starred restaurant is housed in an understated building on the bank of the Water of Leith. Inside, the dining room is stylish but simple, with light wood paneling, white tablecloths, and chairs striped with gray velvet and brown suede. Combining French influences with fresh local ingredients, the ever-changing menu may include Loch Ryan oysters and mackerel tartare with avocado cream, followed by Burnside Farm quail with gold corn mousseline, goose liver, and wild mushroom ravioli. The restaurant also serves a six-course tasting menu and more than 400 international wines.
