Patois
Parlez vous francais? Chef Aaron Burgau’s menu at Patois certainly does, but with a strong southern twang. Considering his commitment to locally sourced ingredients, how could it not? Patois customers especially rave about dishes like fennel-crusted panéed Mississippi rabbit, potato and crab gnocchi, and crispy pork belly with seared scallops. Even the house burger has its own secret sauce. Located in a lovingly restored building in the Uptown Garden District, it’s a popular spot with a smallish dining room that can get quite loud, but never unsocial.
