Pascal's on Ponce
Known for its authentic, uncomplicated French fare, this Coral Gables restaurant is the namesake of chef Pascal Oudin, who studied under culinary legend Alain Ducasse. Oudin's no-frills approach to food is reflected in such dishes as lobster bisque with corn flan, and diver sea scallops topped with short rib, young fennel, carroy Vichy, and fava beans. Echoing the simplicity of the menu, the dining room is furnished with sturdy wooden tables, white linens, and artwork from the local Cernuda Arte Gallery. When the weather is pleasant, additional seating is available outside on the sidewalk.
