Translated, Parea means “a group of friends.” It’s a fitting name for this Flatiron neighborhood bistro, which serves small plates of Greek fare, meant to be shared amongst friends. Owner Stavros Aktipis and chef Gregory Zapantis have created a warm environment for convivial diners by using earthy tones and reclaimed details like wood floors and wine barrels. Octopus braised in red wine vinegar and Mediterranean sea bream are perennial favorites. The focus here is on fish, and diners can see their catch displayed on ice before committing.
