Simple and understated describes both the decor and food at Omai in Chelsea. Black chairs, white tablecloths, and softly glowing lanterns adorn this Vietnamese restaurant. The food is a blend of fresh veggies, perfectly cooked meats, and highlights of spices with options like the rice-paper rolls with grilled prawns, spicy beef salad with lemongrass and basil, grilled scallops and prawns in chilies and basil, and sea bass in ginger. For dessert, the banana bread with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and coconut pyramid with tapioca pandan sauce are favorites.
