Mozzarella aficionados need look no further than the corner of Via Mercato and Via Fiori Chiari in the Brera district. Sourcing only from strictly regulated members of the Consortium of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, who produce (and hand-roll) the cheese from 100 percent buffalo milk, Obika has four distinct grades accompanied by light salads and cured meats. Especially popular are the rolls with roasted ham, cured beef, or smoked salmon. Like the name, the restaurant’s design has a slight Japanese flavor in its minimalist, polished metal surfaces, and sushi-bar-like counter.
