Inside the Ambassador Hotel in Bloomsbury, Number Twelve serves a fusion of seasonal British and Italian cuisine. The restaurant’s sleek neutral interior is accented by bright red chairs and windows that overlook the Dickensian Woburn Walk, lined with carefully preserved 19th-century buildings, including the former residence of William Butler Yeats. Chef Charles Holtz uses locally sourced produce to create an ever-changing menu, which may include dishes like char-grilled Italian wild boar sausage with polenta cream and seafood pie with scallops, prawns, salmon, and spinach. Number Twelve also has a small but well-selected wine list and a traditional afternoon tea menu.
