No Name Pub
The name alone gives a good indication of the fun-hearted, "he's not here" vibe at this famous pub, eatery, and tourist spot. Half the fun is finding the weathered little shack on the outskirts of Big Pine Key—it's located on an elbow-shaped peninsula called Doctor's Arm, about 1.5 miles from A1A. The building itself dates from 1931 and has served stints as general store, a brothel, a bait shop, and starting in the late 40's, a quirky, casual watering hole covered from wall to ceiling with signed dollar bills, a tradition that picked up steam during the waning days of discos and lasted well into the Reagan era. Here, folks can relax with delicious pizzas, seafood sandwiches, and cold beer. Out back, picnic tables provide extra room, and the jukebox is still full of classic Buffett tunes.
