Mussel Inn
Despite an unassuming exterior, the Mussel Inn restaurant draws crowds with its menu of fresh seafood imported from the western coast of Scotland. The light-filled dining room is simply decorated with hardwood floors, butcher-block tables, and colorful fish mosaics, while the outdoor patio provides great people-watching on Rose Street when the weather is pleasant. Although chalkboard menus advertise daily specials, the go-to dish here is the kilo (or half kilo) pot of mussels served in a variety of sauces, from the traditional white wine, garlic, and shallots, to more unusual options like the Moroccan (chilies, garlic, ginger, coriander, and cumin).
