A local favorite for generations, Moti Mahal claims to have pioneered the rich and creamy style of tandoori cuisine. The outdoor courtyard has a mosaic fountain and a stage for live performances of <em>qawwali</em> music (spiritual Sufi music, made famous by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan); indoors it’s simple wooden furniture and ed tablecloths in a big hall.
We loved: Classic butter chicken, cooked first in a clay tandoor oven, then stewed in a mix of spices, tomato and butter.
