Mon Vieil Ami
Located on the Ile St.-Louis, Mon Vieil Ami is run by acclaimed Alsatian chef Antoine Westermann. The small, lively space is decorated with stone walls, elaborate flower arrangements, and dark wood tables, including one long communal table. Incorporating fresh vegetables from renowned producer Joël Thiébault, the seasonally rotating menu includes modern Alsatian dishes like pâté en croûte (wrapped in pastry) and pork pot-au-feu (meaning “pot on the fire”), a traditional stew served with horseradish. The restaurant also has a reasonably priced prix fixe menu and a short but well-chosen list of mostly Alsatian wines.
