Designed to resemble a traditional Italian trattoria, Marzano is housed in a white-stucco building with a terracotta-tile roof. Inside, glass demijohn light fixtures hang from exposed wooden beams, and an ebonized bar runs almost the entire length of the room. The main focal point, however, is the wood-fired brick oven, where the chefs prepare thin-crust pizzas like the classic margherita, and the house-made fennel sausage with aged provolone, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and broccoli. The restaurant is also known for its unusual specialty cocktails, such as the Paper Airplane, a mixture of bourbon, Yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and Peychaud’s Bitters.
